Andy Sham
I retire from Hong Kong civil service after UK studies, then head the mainland university counselling team for 6 years until 2017, involving over 2000 case sessions (some crisis and trauma cases) per year. Appointed as MSF expatriate psychologist for Sichuan earthquake response in 2008, and part-time teaching, guiding student practice in social work and counseling for HK universities over 18 years. Now I walk with clients bearing respect and patience in their lived experience and certify counselors in practice under the HKPCA program. Languages include Mandarin, English, Cantonese, Sign Language, basic Spanish and Japanese.
Professional qualifications include Certified Counselor and Approved Supervisor of HKPCA (www.hkpca.org.hk), membership of HKPS, RSW, and Mediator HKIArb (HKIAC) and HKMAAL. A Narrative Practitioner, followed late Michael White and his teaching faculties at Dulwich Centre, Australia (2003 international program).
