Are you currently going through a challenging time? Are you maybe experiencing that worries, losses, changing life circumstances, difficult emotions, or problems in your relationship to yourself or to others are becoming overwhelming? These are examples of the struggles of living that we are all engaged in at some point – simply by virtue of being human.
My name is Lone and I am a counsellor in Hong Kong. When someone seeks counselling when navigating struggles of living, I see this as an active, personal, and existential choice that a person can make. I believe that counselling can be a powerful aid for turning our struggles of living into invitations to develop a life that is characterized by greater freedom, well-being, and meaningfulness.
Originally from Denmark, I understand many of the challenges that may come with living and working in Hong Kong as a person from abroad. My approach to counselling is based on a genuine interest in human beings, and on the belief that each person is important and has unique potential. In counselling, it is important for me that we develop a relationship where you can be yourself. Counselling is a collaborative process that allows you the space to develop new understandings, new perspectives, and new ways of acting and being.
As I work with a culturally and linguistically diverse group of clients, I value working in an integrative and culturally sensitive manner. I draw on a variety of approaches, with an accent on the psychodynamic and Buddhism-inspired paradigms. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked as a language teacher. I can offer counselling services in English, Danish, and German.
I am looking forward to meeting you.
