According to the Mental Health Ordinance(M.H.O.), patients need to fill in 3 forms within the process of enforced detention. Patients are allowed to request a conference with the judge, further suggesting calling off the process.
Some patients are detented in mental facilities because of the 31st of chapter 136 of the M.H.O. In this case, they could request the Mental Health Review Tribunal to review his/her case through the 59B of chapter 136 of the M.H.O.
If patients do not feel satisfied with their attending doctor’s mental assessment/treatment, they could complain to the Hospital Authority of Hong Kong.
