Through psychological counselling, therapy and treatment, SEN children can achieve a better developments. It helps to improve their misbehaviors, increase self-awareness, deal with study pressure etc. About the optimum treatment period, psychologist indicated it is better to have treatment before 6 years old. It is the period before well-developed of brain and speech ability. Early treatment can effectively help SEN children’s all-round developments. 

Beside children individual counselling, counsellors also care about the interactions between carers or parent with SEN children. Some cases showed that SEN carers were being emotional and helpless when they were taking care to SEN children. Some parents were also being anxious and busy to seek resources for SEN children. Some SEN carers turned out to suffer from emotional issues because of pressure. Also, part of parents adopted wrong parenting methods for disciplining SEN children. The stricter parentings and punishments might lead to unexpected consequences and broke parent-children relationship. In the family counselling, counsellors will guide parents suitable interactions and effective parenting methods to discipline their children’s emotions and behaviors. Moreover, counsellors also care about parents’ emotional sufferings and pressure.
